Lesson 6: Info Document 

  • Lesson 6  Info Document contains information learned in the Slide Deck and then some.  Students can use the info docs as a “textbook” for the class. 
    • Defines diet/dieting and good nutrition.
    • Discusses diet trends.
    • Illustrates a timeline of eating habits over 40 years. 

 

Lesson 6: Assignments

  • 3.06 Evaluating Diet Trends
    • Students are asked to research 3 current diet trends and evaluate the pros and cons of each.  They are instructed to use the internet to complete a web-search of each diet trend, gathering information from scientific journals/articles, health and wellness websites, blogs.
    • Students are asked to describe the diet trend, what types of foods are consuming, what restrictions are there, the goal of the diet trend, benefits of the diet, and downfalls of the diet. 
    • After students answer the questions pertaining to each diet, they are instructed to make an informed conclusion on their findings, citing evidence from their research.
