Lesson 1: Pregnancy and Breastfeeding Nutrition (29 slides)

Lesson 1: Info Document 

  • Lesson 1 Info Document contains information learned in the Slide Deck and then some.  Students can use the info docs as a “textbook” for the class. 
    • Defines lifecycle nutrition.
    • Discusses the nutritional needs of pregnant women: calories, variety, fiber, fluids, prenatal vitamins, minerals, and exercise. 
    • Describes what nutrition should look like for a breastfeeding mom.
    • Identifies benefits of breastmilk. 

 

Lesson 1: Assignments

  • 5.01 Unit Introduction Notes 
    • Notes directly correspond with the Unit 5 Lesson 1 Info Document 
    • Students are instructed to fill in the blank regarding information on lifecycle nutrition and pregnancy.  Students are asked to describe the importance, role, or guidelines suggested for each nutrient listed.  Students are asked 2 questions regarding breastfeeding.
