Lesson 3: Childhood Nutrition  (18 slides)

Lesson 3: Info Document 

  • Lesson 3 Info Document contains information learned in the Slide Deck and then some.  Students can use the info docs as a “textbook” for the class. 
    • Describes childhood dietary habits.
    • Outlines the influence of family, media, and peers on childhood eating patterns.
    • Describes ideal nutrition from ages one to three years old.
    • Describes ideal nutrition from ages four to six years old.
    • Describes ideal nutrition from ages seven to twelve years old.
    • Identifies common food concerns for children including eating empty calories, eating foods high fructose corn syrup, eating only a limited amount of food, food allergies, and  food intolerances. 

 

Lesson 3: Assignments

  • 5.03 Childhood Nutrition Notes 
    • Notes directly correspond with the Unit 5 Lesson 3 Info Document 
    • Students are instructed to answer various questions regarding childhood dietary influences, what ideal nutrition looks like from ages 1-12, and to identify common food concerns among children.
